- The graduate component of ESI is still being developed, but there are two ways that graduate students can participate. First, students can members of traditional departments and join if their interests are in interdisciplinary environmental sciences. Second, they can be part of the Environmental Sciences, Studies, and Policy (ESSP) doctoral degree within the Environmental Studies Program. This second option is geared around an interdisciplinary graduate education in environmental studies, that in addition to the natural sciences includes components in social sciences, humanities, and policy.
